Biography

Ryan is a Principal in Gensler's Seattle office and Technology Leader for the firm's Northwest region, focused on strategic client relationships and drawing on his experience building lasting partnerships to define intent, envision successful outcomes, and solve problems relating to space, experience, and culture.

Ryan's experience across diverse project types and geographies, including design strategy, workplace design, master planning, retail, transportation, energy, and civic engagements around the world, lets him quickly grasp the complexity of his clients' challenges and set new strategies in motion to solve them. He has developed and managed long-term global design strategy programs for some of Gensler's most innovative clients, driving cultural cohesion, employee engagement, and effectiveness. He previously served as Office Managing Director and led the Strategy studio in Gensler Seattle, where he founded the Strategy and Brand Design practices. He earned a B.S. in Architecture from Washington State University and a Certificate in Architecture from Denmark’s International Study Program.
