Biography
Omar is a Practice Area Leader at Gensler, leading Sports and Entertainment across Latin America. Based in Costa Rica, he brings a multidisciplinary perspective to designing sports facilities and creating meaningful experiences that connect people and communities.
Omar's approach to design is shaped by his background in architecture, education, and emerging technologies. A Chevening Scholar, he earned his master's in emergent technologies and design from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, where his dissertation, "Farm City," explored the intersection of education, urban design, and planning. His career has taken him from Gensler London to Costa Rica, where he now leads the firm's regional Sports and Entertainment practice. His interdisciplinary experience informs his approach to designing sports and entertainment destinations that bring people together and create lasting value for communities.

Architecture has the power to drive sports development and generate lasting institutional value. A well-designed sports facility does more than serve the game: it shapes how communities experience it, how institutions grow around it, and how a region positions itself on the global stage.
